Someone in Georgia just got a whole lot richer after one lucky Powerball ticket sold in the Peach State landed a nearly half-million prize.
According to the Powerball website, a lucky ticket sold in Georgia was the only one to match all five white numbers plus the red Powerball called during Wednesday's drawing to win the $478 million prize. The odds of winning the jackpot were said to be 1 in 292.2 million. Additionally, one ticket sold in Pennsylvania and another in Texas each won $1 million after matching five numbers in the drawing.

Following the major win during Wednesday's drawing, the jackpot has reset to $20 million, with a cash value of $9.6 million, ahead of the drawing on Saturday (October 26). The Powerball jackpot last reset on August 19 after a lucky player in California scored the $44 million prize, exactly one week after another player in Pennsylvania landed the $214 million Powerball jackpot.
